Is there a bug free way to use IRToy in Linux, if not I would request you to pls. mention this "limited" Linux support at all the places one can buy this as this not only wastes them money but also gets frustrating with no help anywhere and almost non-existence of firmware updates or someone/community even willing to get over these bugs.

IRToy v 22 seems to have a serious bug which makes it unresponsive after sometime. The problem seems that the device goes into debug mode after some time of inactivity (or some other reason) and needs a replug to get working again. This is what I found using
I am trying to get my USB IRToy v 2 with firmware 22 running on RPi (Debian wheezy), after almost 6 hours I finally got it recognized by Pi after installing patched LIRC for USB_IRTOY.
Now, when I try to run LIRC service no output is shown on screen and it just exits, irw and irrecord -n -H irman -d /dev/ttyACM0 RemoteXXX.conf show following errors :
