Bus Pirate Development / Bus Pirate demo board V5b parts list
I have a V5b demo board (also design overview here) free PCB coming to me in the mail and I'm starting to figure out how I could possibly assemble it.  This would be my first SMT project, so wish me luck.

Anyway, I've generated a Mouser project for it and I'd appreciate if anyone knowledgable could give it a quick look and tell me if I've done anything obviously stupid there.  I'll happily hand edit rights to anyone who wants to fix it.

Notes:
  • I know the zener/R3 pair aren't needed for PICKit3, and that the trace under R3 needs to be cut if these parts are installed.
  • I pulled as many parts as possible from the master parts list but not D2 (zener), IC1 (op amp) or U1 ("PIC16F1829SS").  Those might need more scrutiny than the rest.
  • Speaking of D2, I picked whatever seemed cheap and plentiful between 8V and 9V since that's the safe programming range according to the PIC16F1829 PDF datasheet (see Vpp range, page 361).
  • Although I took it from the master parts list, I have no idea if that is an appropriate resistor network for RN1 and RN2.  Please advise.

Any thoughts?

Bus Pirate Support / Re: Bus Pirate V4 Probe Connector
Thanks sdixon, I was figuring out a lot of what you said by staring at Mouser's site more and groping through various datasheets, but it's definitely helpful to have it confirmed by someone else.  It's almost comical how when you find the right datasheet for somebody's line of IDC connectors, they always seem to say 10, 14, 16 (etc) pins.

I guess if Seeedstudio isn't going to carry a suitable set of probe cables, the solution is just to use a set of single-wire jumpers and something like these IC hooks when necessary?

Realistically I should probably just buy the BP 3.5 and shut up, but the 4's been out there for a while now and it looks like the future.  I mean, it has a higher number, so that's got to be better, right?

Bus Pirate Support / Re: Bus Pirate V4 Probe Connector
I can't post URLs yet, but if you search Mouser for 0901420006 you get a Molex connector that looks promising to me.  It's keyed in a way that looks to match the V4 board photos at seeed, and they have almost 46k in stock so they must be pretty popular.  Has this problem already been solved, or if not is there some reason this connector wouldn't work?
