General discussion / Re: Big Box Of Parts U.S.A. Only
Here is a picture of one corner of the box.  Two of the other corners were torn halfway.

Here is what I took:

BP-2127 VFD tube w/breakout
Bus Pirate Case
Key Switch
Both large LED arrays
Trigger Switch Cover

Here is what I added:

Bus Pirate v3.1SE PCB
Bus Pirate v4.0 PCB
3 female USB Mini connectors (I may add 2 more that fit the PCBs)
Misc SMA antenna
8 10uF 1206 Tantalum Caps
~90 0.1uF 0805 Ceramic Caps
CF to IDE adapter
Small Bag of Green LEDs
UC3-A3 Xplained
Actual Size Sticker
12v White LED Light Panel
Small Solar Panel
DEAD Sparkfun Serial Accelerometer v5 (Accelerometer may be good, but no serial)
2 Rubber Feet
2 Small Batteries
@Tagno25, did the contents arrive reasonably unscathed?  Did the glass tubes make it intact?
Everything looked intact. One of the SMD tapes was empty, a few pins were bent, and some small parts that were loose may have fallen out.

I will probably tape the inside of the box, to ensure no small parts escape.
PS: may I please add the build picture to the wiki for this project?
Sure, you can add them to the wiki.

General discussion / Re: USB IR Toy Shield
What makes this a "USB IR Toy Shield" instead of just an "IR Shield" ??
That is name it is called in the free PCB drawer.  Really it is just a IR Shield with TX and RX.

General discussion / USB IR Toy Shield
I built a IR Toy Shield. I have not tested it, but am having my brother try to get it working.

I put down solder paste and heated each side of the surface mount components with my Hakko. It was rather simple to assemble.

Breakout boards / MMA7455L Free PCB Build

Soldering the MMA7455L without solder paste was slightly difficult. I had to reflow it twice to get the pins aligned.  And I put too much solder in the capacitor pads.

I will probably flip the pins over to make connecting the wires more straight forward when it is on a breadboard.  I should also put some nail polish over the incorrect SCL/SPC.

If you go into a mode (m, 2) and enable the power supplies (W) does the VREG LED light? VREG is attached to the 3v3 supply. Also, the Bus Pirate measures the voltage after the 'W' command, and if it is too low it should complain about a short.
If you now press 'v' to get a voltage report, what do the 3.3volt and ADC report?
I get an error stating that VREG is too low, and the power supplies are off
What does the ADC measure (d) when unconnected?
Now connect the 3v3 to ADC and press d, what is the reading?
Now connect 5v0 to the ADC and press d, what is the reading?
ADC measures 0 when unconnected, 0.85v when connected to 3.3v, and 0v when connected to 5v.

If I connect the output of VR2 to the output of VR3 then I can turn on the power supply.  After turning on the power supply the 5v line turns on and outputs 5v.

@tagno25 - It looks like the 3.3volt regulator isn't working. What firmware are you running?

The regulators are pretty resistant, they shouldn't burn out even from moderate abuse (shorts, over current). Is it possible that there is a short under the board (change on your desk), or the pin is touching ground or another pin?
I am running firmware v5.10 (r559) with bootloader v4.4

I used two jumpers to test and held the bus pirate in the air, but I still get the same error.  If I run the test without the jumper on 3.3v and ADC, then 3.3v says it is at 1.25v

3.3v(0.91) FAIL

....

Found 2 errors.

Everything else says OK

When I ran it about a month ago, everything was OK.
