Press and hold center button until "CONTOL SELECTION" menu is shown (it will go to normal menu first - just keep the button pressed for 3-4 more seconds), and then select "KEYS", again pressinng and releasing center button.
It worked! Thank you so much Sparkybg! You just made my day.
Re button not working I would test the button itself first using a simple continuity multimeter, if it does not work just short switch pins to test if the board is still alive.
Seeing all the comments above I would not be surprised that your switch is faulty.
I doubt it is the case that will affect just 1 button. Did calibration pass your test 999 - 1001 using a 10R precision resistor?
Happy Easter
Hi Tronix,
Thank you for the fast response and a happy easter to you aswell! I did do the continuity test and it seems to be in order and from what I can tell the resistors tied to the buttons still show 3k. So maybe the main chip has been damaged? I made a short video to show the problem: https://youtu.be/H1uwHrA1uqs
I recently bought a unisolder kit (fully soldered). However I noticed that the right button does nothing and pressing the left button does work but it doesn't move the temp upwards. It simply raises it and it instantly drops down again. (eg. temp is 300°C. I press the left button and the temp shows 302 and instantly drops down again to 300.) Only spamming the left button ups the temp from time to time.
The center button works fine and the iron does heat as normal. Since I'm a bit inexperienced when it comes to electronics troubleshooting, I hope anybody might know the solution for this. Any components I could check with a multimeter to detect issues?
ps. during assembly the 3.3v and gnd at the back board (next to the sleep wire) did touch briefly. Could that be the cause?
