Project logs / Re: Really universal soldering controller
3v on SENSEA means 300mA, which means 0.9W on 10ohm resistor, which is impossible without smoke here and there. :)

The peak current on SENSEA should be ((1.225v/256)*128)/1600=382.28uA, and the peak voltage should be 3.828mV. The voltage on Vadc line on the MCU should be 1.4355V peak.

Lower MOSFET (Q10 for channel 1) is either in OFF state, or defective in open state. Gate-source voltage on it should be 8V peak.

Push middle button for 2 seconds and release it. Put 10 ohm resistor between SENSEB and Vout1-. If the voltages are the same, then there should be something that prevents lower MOSFETs from switching on, or they both are defective. It may be U2 or U3, or the MCU. If the signal on U3-5 changes when you switch channels (2sek middle button and release) from 0 to 3.3V, then it is not the MCU. If changing signal on U3-5 does nothing on U3-10 and U3-13, then U3 is deffective. If not, U2 is deffective, if there is a voltage on U2-4, but not on U2-5 and U2-7. And at the end, if there's a signal on MOSFET's gates, then the MOSFETs are defective in open state.

I fix it. Nothing broked. Just a bad conection with one connector.

I have the 2.42" display and have the same results as vulkan35 video in terms of noisy when i calibrate the channel.

Thanks.

I have resoldered U12 and take more measurements in calibration menu with 10 ohms resistor between Vout1- and Sense A.

This are my measurements:

Sense A: 2.28v - 2.38v
U14:2   2.04v
U12-1    0.25v-0.34v
U12-3   2.70v - 2.73v (Seems to be ok)
U16-2   0.64v (Something is wrong, it has to be around 0.004v)
U18-5   0.64v (Something is wrong, it has to be around 0.004v)
U13-1   3.26v (It has to be around 0.112v - 0.116v)

As per following recommendations:

I have check Q10, Q11 and U2. It seems to be ok. V at C19 is 9v. This is because input voltage is 12v.
I forget to mention before  that Unisolder board was connected to a lab power supply at 12V limited to a 150mA while I was soldering and testing the cartidge connector. Cartridge was not connected.

I hope there is not a lot of components damaged, but something sensitive has to be broken.

Hi.

I have one trouble with my Unisolder. I connected wrongly some wires in the solder connector, and I think it caused some damage in the board components. Previously I had calibrated correctly with a 10 ohms resistor. Now when I enter to calibration and I tried to calibrate again with the 10 ohm resistor R goes to 2087.

I check some signals with the scope and I found something strange. I desolder U12 and take some measuraments in calibration menu, with current at 128. It is suposed to U10-6 and U10-9 have to measure a flat signal? I attach my measurements. V at U10-7 is flat and have a 2.04V. Can U10 be broken?

Thanks in advance.

Of course I can share the FW. But I think it is better to try it before do a public release. So if someone have a rotary encoder send me a PM and I will send the FW. When we knows it work 100% properly I will do a public release. Thanks for undestand it.

Hi

First of all, say thank you to Sparkybg for all the work done in this project. I want to build my own Unisolder Station, and I order all the parts. So now I am waiting to arrive all the components.

Meanwhile, after reading some pages of this thread, I saw that one of the most wanted features is to use a rotary encoder to control Unisolder. I have a firmware modified for this, but dont know if it works or not, because I am waiting for the parts to build the project, but if anyone wants to try it in advance  I can give it.
