Project logs / Re: Really universal soldering controller
Hi Blackfinger,

the front panels were manufactured by https://www.schaeffer-ag.de/
They pressed threaded bolts into the back of the front panel. Those are the 3 mounting points for the front board. That was pretty expensive, but i wanted to try their service for some time.

I can imagine it could be stable enough to use a good two component adhesive, but I have never tried that myself.
Thanks Bug82 for info !!!

Thanks Bug82

Dos your pump look like this one ?

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/24V-DC- ... 0e50e4f872

Hi Blackfinger, i have a different pump. I guess its quite old. Its similar to the pump one on this page: https://www.lagerhaus128.ch/?p=606

And SZ64 was right about the case. PROMA Euro Cooling Fin Housing EKG 3, DxWxH: 168x110x104mm
Thanks Bug82 for the information.

I have one more question to you reg. the case.

What solution have you chose for placing the front board in the front panel of the aluminum cabinet
without making any holes for the 3 screws ?

Have you glued the nuts on the back of the front plate, or is it another solution have you used ?
And if it is glued, what type have you used for this ?

thanks !

Project logs / Re: Really universal soldering controller
Hi Blackfinger,

i am happy to share some information. It looks crowded, but compared to the unisolder its really simple.

The desoldering module is based on a small vacuum pump bought on ebay. According to the seller it is from an old Weller unit but i cant find a data sheet (it only says VDO M42x25/I, i guess this is just the motor). It needs 24V and about 2A.

Then there is a 24V 2.2A Meanwell power supply and a relay on a small PCB that switches the pump on/off. The relay is controlled through the mono mini-jack on the front.

Unfortunately i couldn't really test it yet, because i don't have a desoldering iron that works together with the unisolder. I hope to solve that problem when sparkybg comes back.
And once again a stupid question!
With what to connect the contact "earth" ...?

It seems that everyone has scored on this - and did not connect to anything ...
It's just very strange that two weeks there is no answer.

I think that this is a "grounding" and it is necessary to connect directly to the 220V socket with contact No. 3 "grounding".

But my doubts are caused by the fact that in the description of connecting different soldering irons there is =
1) 1. HAKKO T12:
- Outer shell, and heater negative (middle) terminal connected to Vout1- and ERTX
2) JBC C210:
- Outer shell (green wire) connected to EARTH and SENSEB
What I can see from the schematics, and what I can measure on the board, then SGND and GND is connected
at the same place on pin 3 on U2C, backboard schematics , and pin 1 and 2 on Rs1.

So form my view then "Earth" in the photo is SGND / GND in schematics.  EDIT : This is not right !!!

Hope it clears up something, and that my assumption is correct.

Please correct me if I wrong.  Thanks !

EDIT:  Thanks afedorov for correct me.
I will try to update my drawing, so it is correct.
Thanks !

Hi all.

I am trying to finde out how to wire the sleep, tip-change, Hibernation funktion DinikS
have described earlier in this thread.

I have made a drawing with a JBC C245, and I have try to show how I understand the solition for the sleep
funktion, and how it is connected to a tip-holder.

My challenge is to understand how the Thip-change / Hibernation funktion are connected to the system.

I hope some one can help me finish/correct the drawing I atatch this post.

Thanks !
Hi, hibernation doesn't work right now it needs I think to make hardware and software changes in project. So you can use only one channel of cd4001 for holder. For holder connection your picture is right.
Thanks DinikS !
PCB have been ordered when I get them I will update here how it works. Minkok thanks again for sharing it.
Nice work DinkS !!

What software are you using for diagram and PCB drawing ? Is it free software ?

What PCB supplayer are you using ?

Will you shere your gerber file ?

Thanks !!
Connection of NT-105 is unknown for me yet.
If take into account only the first two of tools, for a fixed configuration, triple pole switch is sufficient: Vout-, Vout+ and SENSEA.
Vout-, Vout+ must sustain 6A continuous load. You could add some more poles and parallel them.
Not quite sure how the firmware would handle such a quick tool interconnection, especially if going from one end of switch to another.
Maybe it's better to implement an additional circuit with relay/fet switching and delayed direct tool selection.
As Sparky stated several times, the best way is to build separate controller for each tool.
Thanks for your comment and your replay.

If it switch schould be able to handel up to 6A continuous, then a relay with delay may be a better solution.

Or best of all separate controllers.

Hi all,

If I like to install a rotary switch with 3 or 4 pos. how many pol. schould it then have.

My ide is to have 3 solder handel connected to the Unisolder unit, and then switch
between them.

The 3 solder handel I like to switch between schould be JBC C245, JBC C210 and JBC NT-105.

Could this 4 pol. rotary switch handel the job, or should it be a 6 pol. ?

How many amp. schould the contakt  be able to handle ?

Hi all.

Can anyone informe my what 8 PIN connector type there are used to connect to
the soldering handel ?

Some say it is a XS-12 standart, but I can just finde a 7 PIN not a 8 PIN ?

Thanks !

Project logs / Re: Really universal soldering controller
Hi all,

I have some questen to this projekt.

#1 If I want to use OLED as display, what components from the BOM do I not
need to buy and do I have to make some special work on the front board ?
Place some shorts on the board ?

#2 I have a 24Vdc switch mode power supply 2,5 A, can I use this power supply for the projekt?

#3 I can see some have used a 1,3 " OLED insted of the 0,93" OLED.
Can anyone explain all the change there have to be don if you use the 1,3 OLED ?

Thanks !
