DirtyPCBs support / Re: List of required gerber and drill files for the new site
No worries

I realized I needed to rename the file

Unfortunately I failed to export the solder resist layer (as the default in KiCad seems to be to Not Export )

And the old system doesn't warn about potentially missing files

So...

I'm waiting to see whether the boards are usable or not (without the resist layer)

The board is mostly through hole, so it may be functional without the resist layer.

But I know this is totally my fault, and a mistake I will try not to make again.

(Note. I did check in the gerber viewer in KiCad, but the gerber render doesnt look much different whether I have the resist layer or not)

DirtyPCBs support / List of required gerber and drill files for the new site?
Hi,

I presume the new site takes zip files like the old one does ????

Any chance there can be a sticky that shows what filetypes are accepted, and what files are required.

Note. As a matter of interest, I tried a KiCAD pcb file, but it was rejected from the new site (I suspect neither the old or new sites take Kicad, which is a shame as KiCAD is gaining a lot of traction)

Info on exporting from both Eagle and KiCad would be helpful...

DirtyPCBs support / Available drill sizes?
I've looked around on the site, but I can't see a list of available drill sizes.

I know the PCB house will just use the drill size closest to the one in the drill file, but it would be good to know what these are likely to be

I found a list in a few places e.g.

 .020, .025, .029, .035, .040, .046, .052, .061, .067, .079, .093, .110, .125  (dia in inches)

Are these sizes preferred ?

(I ask as I have some plugs with 1.4mm pins, which I need to drill to around 1.6mm or perhaps 1.7mm and I was trying to work out the best drill size to use, to match the PCB house)
