This is a page for consolidating info on the $3600 (22,500RMB) pick and place machine often called some variation of TM220A. It may run a STM32 and could be very hackable.

Extra parts

  • Various sized nozzles
  • Replacement pins and springs for the feeder advance
  • Replacement electromagnet for the feeder advance pin
  • External “shelf” which is a 15″ reel holder(I’ve used this to hold cut tape)
  • Tools to remove the nozzles and adjust the torque on the tape peel away device (machine comes with one set)

  • S:0805,1206,1812,2010,2512,LED(3528,5050), SOT-23,SOT89
  • M:LED(5050),SOP-8,SOP-14,SOP-16,SOT-223,SOT-252 (size less than: 10*10mm)
  • L: IC size more than 10*10mm, need to setup the height of component

IC size must be under 16*16mm, 100 pins or less, fine-pitch above 0.5mm, the height of component must be less than 3mm.

Use the biggest nozzle size possible.

Specifies the space between components on the tape or the Front IC tray in mm.

0402 is spacing of 2mm, 0603 through 1206 is spacing of 4mm, Front IC tray (stack 0) on front of machine is spacing of 18mm.

%,JointedBoardCommand,X,Y
65535,3,1,0,0,0,0,0,

One line per extra board in the panel. Do NOT include the first board (normally @ X=0, Y=0) or the machine will happily double up on the parts (one on top of the other!).

Speed Setting

You can change the speed between the parts. Handy for moving lager parts of needing more accuracy. Just put the following line between parts to switch.

0,10,0,0,0,0,0,0,

switch to 100% speed

0,1,0,0,0,0,0,0,

switch to 10% speed

0,3,0,0,0,0,0,0,

switch to 30% speed

etc.

range from 1 to 15 corresponding to 10%-150%
