We post a new open source hardware project every month. Our goal is to arrange group purchases of assembled hardware through Seeed Studio. Projects usually cost $10-$40, including worldwide shipping. There’s a preorder process overview and FAQ here.
Ian Lesnet first experimented with organized hardware preorders while writing for Hack a Day, during the Bus Pirate fund raiser. Mahalo, the company that owns Hack a Day, doesn’t allow authors to profit from sales to avoid conflicts of interest. Ian started this site to so he could sell his future open source projects.
We’ll continue to support past projects, like the Bus Pirate, with new demonstrations and accessories.
