Resistor cutting robot from .:Oomlout:.
On our Shenzhen trip we were joined by the Oomlout team. While discussing a reel-to-strip cutting robot, Aaron mentioned that he has a resistor cutting robot.
It’s built from laser cut MDF and acrylic, with a bunch of servos attached to load and cut the resistor tape. The project is open source, so all the design files are available on their site. We really like the menacing look of the blades.

Thanks for linking it! I’ve been very happy how Mister Bitey has turned out so far, however there is a bit of an issue with resistor spacing that can cause counting issues, unlike the precision of Oomlout’s stepper motor. I do have a couple solutions I’m working on to address the issue, and will release plans for it once I’ve got it all worked out :D
