VHF FM Aircraft receiver:

VHF FM Aircraft Receiver is a superregenative receiver developed for listening to FM transmitters but also tunes the aircraft band and the top portion of the FM broadcast band. Receives both AM and FM (107mHz to 135 MHz). You can use this receiver with the any FM transmitter. The receiver is amazingly simple using only one transistor for the receiver section and one IC for the audio section. This circuit is a self-quenching regenerative RF receiver also known as a superregenerative receiver.

    Are you sure the superregenerative detector doesn’t emit any radiation on the frequency it listens to? I don’t think I would have taken the chance given that this is about something as vital as aircraft communications.

    I think this is a very irresponsible circuit to promote. A superregenerative is only one mis-tune away from a transmitter. Anybody building this circuit is risking interfering with aircraft transmissions.

    Secondly, and perhaps more importantly, http://circuit-zone.com/ steals other people’s circuits and republishes them without attribution. I request you not to give them any publicity. A quick google suggests that this particular circuit is originally by jbgizmo.com/page23a.html

    Most of the circuits at that Circuit-Zone site are pretty poor, can’t think why you think this circuit is good. The creator didn’t even use the correct schematic symbol for an inductor, looks like a CAD package from the 1980’s.
