rng has been working on a new PCB CAD tool called Razen:

Razen is a collaborative, scriptable schematic and PCB layout tool.  Currently in development, a first alpha release will be available by April.

    Good luck with that.
    I see you are aiming at 2-layer boards only (4m x 4m is huge). I’m sure someone will ask for multilayer support, or track length matching or… whatever.

    Me? I’d just like something small & simple enough to work from a USB memory chip. 50cm x 50cm would be more than enough space, and 4-layers is enough to route [smaller] FPGA devices with a BGA pinout.
