Skittles sorting machine
Ever wanted to eat only the red colored skittles? Now you can, as Brian designed a Skittles sorting machine based around a Basic Stamp 2 board. The candy is one by one placed on a turn table which swings each one by a TCS3200-DB Color Sensor. Next up a tube mounted on a servo motor dispenses the candy to sorting containers.

That’s just awesome!! I wanna make one!
Love it, I want to adapt it to sort my son’s lego (tough because of the size variation).
LOL! No, really: I *really* laughed out loud when I saw this! Thanks for the laugh!
This is friggin awesome :) Though I am curious on the creation of the beast, i’m appalled at the price of the TCS3200-DB Color Sensor. 60 USD for a color sensor?
The ADJD-S311-CR999 is only about 3.50 USD, but it is a 3×3 ball 0.65 pitch BGA package… You can get a board with it already soldered from http://australianrobotics.com.au/products/color-light-sensor-evaluation-board for USD 21 – a little bit better than 60 at least :)
