Here’s an interesting project to automate your home beermaking process. “BrewPi is an open source fermentation controller that runs on an Arduino (for now) and a Raspberry Pi. It can control your beer temperature with 0.1 degree precision, log temperature data in nice graphs and is fully configurable from a web interface.” The Arduino is used as a slave to the R-Pi for GPIO purposes due to crash problems with the R-Pi.

They are pleased to announce the release of their project code and source files on the BrewPi project site, along with a step-by-step guide on their WiKi page.

    I can’t wait to sift through this in detail.
    Before I look through the reasoning, why use a processor with so much CPU power? Esp one tht is “unstable”.

      The Pi is used for the web interface and data logging. You might not need all the processing power of the Pi, but you won’t find anything cheaper that will do the job.

      The Arduino runs the temperature control.
