Workshop Update for September 5th, 2012

in Workshop Update by DP | 3 comments

Today we built up some prototypes to go to Seeed later this week. We did new PCB intake and scanning (look for them in the free PCB store soon). Added some more warnings and clarifications to the free PCB store to hopefully avoid some confusion about the whole system. Picked up one India visa, dropped one off.

We made clearance adjustments to the ATX Sick of Beige case, and we prepared the new files for production. We also continued working on tutorials.

We continued our work on the ATX v2 board in KiCad. We had a major breakthrough when Sjaak pointed us the the Eagle-to-KiCad library conversion script.

It is great seeing you all working with Kicad! Looking forward to seeing some of the results.

Interesting – is DP testing KiCAD or is slowly moving to KiCAD? (I hope it’s moving)

  3. Nice to see you trying out kicad.

I’ve been using it for some years now, so I know switching from eagle might involve some rethinking how stuff is done, but I think posibility to design greater boards with more lwaers is definitly worth the work.

I hope to see a conerted version of the DP-Library soon.

If you encounter any problems, just drop me a line on IRC.
