Eagle parts: Assorted 74xxx logic ICs in TSSOP packages

in Eagle parts by DP | 1 comment

For the DP Badge project we used some tiny TSSOP logic ICs, including the ULN2003 (pictured above) , 74HC595, 74HC4017, and the 555 timer. Previews from our Eagle part library are blow the fold.

74HC595 Serial shift register.

74HC4017 decade counter and encoder.

555 universal timer IC in SOIC-8.

  1. I have 2 questions.

First, why did you make your power and ground pins separate from your actual device when you created your symbol.

Second, do you typically allow the value to be adjusted (Value = On) when creating your device.

The basis for that question is that amongst the many struggles I have with Eagle is making the BOM as accurate as possible, bearing in mind that small differences in Part #’s may equate to no change in footprint.
