LC200A LC meter teardown and review
G5pw wrote a review of the LC200A LC meter. This type of LC meter is commonly available on eBay for ~40 USD and boasts 1-5% accuracy. In his first post he wrote about the physical side of the design, like box quality, buttons, etc.
The case looks custom cut plastic with engravings; sadly, some of them are wrong and misleading, like the one on the power jack, saying 9V AC where, upon closer circuit inspection, 5V DC is more appropriate. Connecting 9V AC could probably fry the meter! The switch is labeled “AC” and “DC” where it should probably be “ON” and “OFF”. So it looks like the case was adapted from another project (or maybe an older revision?).

I don’t know about this Chinese LC meter, but the one at the link below is U.S. made, $100, and has a very good reputation. While you are there, check out their free filter design software they offer too…

Remember these cheap L/C meters measure at a relatively low frequency (<1MHz), so if you're working with components for use at RF frequencies YMMV.
