Review of the XC9572XL clone by Numato Lab

A few weeks ago Numato Lab ported our XC9572XL CPLD breakout board to KiCad. Hilipka got one of their assembled boards for free and wrote a review.
- its quite a nice board, feeld of high quality
- even included an oscillator
- the JTAG header is not labeled at all, making it difficult in the beginning
I found one problem in common with the DP version: the Vcc pin of the JTAG header is connected directly to the on-board regulator, which might harm it (its not reverse battery protected). So currently one should not power the board that way, but always by 5 volts.

The funny thing is I see a semi tome stoned cap to the left of the processor… Someone should really check the quality of their boards before releasing product pictures like that.
Just for clarification: this picture has been taken by me, not by Numato Labs. And it is a prototype, not a finished product.
Just checked the board again – this cap is soldered properly. I verified two times with a jewelers loupe – it really is just a reflection making it look that way (I took a picture for the next posting).
Ohh well good job on the rest of the soldering :) I guess the flash got you on this one.
