Bus Pirate and PiratePICprog programms PIC32

in Development by DP | 5 comments

AndThen added support for PIC32 devices to PiratePICprog, the PIC programming application for the Bus Pirate. He needs help testing it. If you have a PIC32 and a Bus Pirate try it out.

Please note: PIC32 programming does not require the Bus Pirate PIC programming adapter.

I think this would be good for me to invest in.

I am so in on this! I have apparently lost my working pickit2, so instead I will nab on this! :)

Best part is that I don’t need the bus pirate pic programming adapter! :D

Oh noes!! This isn’t front page worthy. But i’ll take any testers that are willing.
the latest edition (http://dangerousprototypes.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=3477#p34844) needs some changes (http://dangerousprototypes.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=3477#p34896)

Ok so the story goes like this.
I’m attempting bootstrapping of a pic32 with a basic stamp 2 homework board, for assorted reasons. I noticed someone asked if the Bus pirate could do this. The short answer “no”, the longer answer is “Not currently, but it should be easier with the recent pirate prog updates.”.

Follow along as I stumble into the datasheet in the forums..

So it gets about time to get my hands on the new MX120 in the DIP packaging. Which other Pic32 chips does it support (e.g. the MX220)?

  5. AndThen says:

The list is a rather long, PIC32MX 1-7 series, all covered in the one datasheet. The software is without purpose, like an epic cross-word puzzle. I have only PIC32MX120F032B so currently that is the only ID entered. The MX1-2 will be first unless someone asks for another.

microchip datasheet DS61145J, lists the devices, the tables start on pages 7 and 40
