Itead mystery gift arrives

Several weeks ago we posted about an X-Mas giveaway from Iteadstudio. We were surprised to see that it arrived during our stay in Tokyo! As it was shipped like a regular letter, we suspect it blasted past bigger parcels and slipped through quite easily.

If you’re still waiting for it, and don’t want to know what’s inside, don’t read further.

We were kinda surprised to find a creditcard-sized PCB in the envelope. Actually it is to show off what they can pull-off with their PCB service. It is a reference to help visualize PCB design, as zooming in and out in Eagle makes you more or less unaware of real sizes. We’ll keep this handy all the time.

There were also some other goodies in the envelope: 5x 20cm female-female jumper cable for bread-boarding and testing, a business card, and discount coupon.

Guess X-mas comes early this year!

Great way to promote services as well.
The PCB will come handy in case of any real imagination of product size if doing it the SMD way..

  2. Markus says:

Neat ! I’d like one, too, but I’m certailny too late now :-)

Do they publish the Eagle design files ?

  3. FourthDr says:

To bad this was not a more useful board like a proto/breakout for smd ic development……oh well, another PCB for the wall. ;-)

  4. Mel says:

Cool. If I can print this off actual size, I can laminate it. As you say, a very useful reference.

  5. bsom says:

Come on, what was the coupon good for?!?

  6. Dolabra says:

That looks pretty useful actually. I never really know what size holes I need.

  7. Øyvind says:

Excellent. I just installed Eagle yesterday, so this will be spot on.

  8. SQKYbeaver says:

the hole sizing on the top will be very useful for checking undocumented pth parts.

Great work. If files available please share.

  10. M Lange says:

Also of note: They ship from the same Logistics company that Seeed uses.

booo i got mine but no 5x 20cm female-female jumper cable for bread-boarding and testing

  12. Øyvind says:

Mine arrived yesterday. No cables for me either :-(

  13. Drone says:

The should have used a lot of the empty green space for silkscreen font and size examples. Nice board though, they should sell these.

  14. Dolabra says:

Got mine too. It’s a good reminder to stay away from components in the 201 package.

Does anyone know how they did the logo on the back?
