The document type definition(DTD) of EAGLE is available in /doc folder and is provided under CC-BY-ND license. This can be used freely to write or read EAGLE files as long as it not modified(No Derivatives). This opens many possibilities like SVG rendering of schematic and board files from EAGLE XML.
Did anyone here hear about the rumours for pricing?
Apparently, or so I high on the amp hour, eagle may get rid of the free version of eagle, in which case they will loose their position as the de facto standard for most hobby pcb making.
I for one am begging that kicad succeeds and gets more features. :(
I still got the option for the free version during the installation. Where did you heard about this?
I personally don’t think they will skip the free version, as some sales will be generate by the free version.
Wow. Lots of cool features!
Downloading .. :)
They forgot to change version number – 5.91.1
@Valentin Ivanov
It’s fairly common for prerelease builds to have a X.9 or X.90 build numbers prior to release where X is the previous version number and they do the full increment on release. Of course some software hits mainstream with a .9 build like Grub 2 at 1.99
Single pin multiple pad support?! HAZZAH!
