Anyone worth his salt in this field could have told you that the DSO Quad was likely over specified for the price. I’m sure Seeed has been told this before. I’m glad to see them finally owning up to it; but sad to see it is only after people actually paid for it.
Just looking at the part list would give you a hint: the ADC chip is an AD9288-40, the “-40″ implies that sampling is done at 40 MHz only…
And according to Olivier (that wrote the http://www.soudez.be/joomla/content/view/12/27/lang,en/ back in 2006), the R24/R26/C74 network provides an anti-aliasing filter featuring a 4.4 MHz bandwidth only…
I agree, this is sad for the persons who spent their money trustfully to get a decent scope.
