Logitech Revue rooted
GTV Hacker has developed a guide to installing applications and rooting your Logitech Revue. The new hack uses the Revue’s UART1 port to upload a start-up script which allows “root” access, allowing the installation of your own apps and access the full filesystem. You need to solder a set of leads to the mainboard and then connect to the box using a terminal program.

I don’t know if this is completely necessary. I installed my Revue and it was fast and easy. I have no problem with apps and other functions, it runs very smoothly. During its initial production, working at DISH I was so excited that I was going to be able to get this product; and fast! I got it and now after having for some time, I couldn’t imagine going back from it.
